Water is a bad conductor of heat; but we heat water without any difficulty. How is it possible?

Actually, we don't heat water without difficulty. Other substances heat much more quickly than water. Think about how much time it takes for water to boil and compare that with the time it takes for anything else touching a stove to reach 100�C.
