Has anyone heard of McDonalds soon to buy their meat from S. America?

I recently received an email about this, but accidentally deleted it. Does anyone know where other fast food joints (ie. Wendy's, Burger King, Arby's.....ect.) are getting their meat from? I want to stick with American meats or boycott fast food all together. Trying to explain to kids why they aren't allowed a cheeseburger from MCD's. Scared of getting something tainted.
